This generative art piece reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired composition, displaying a grid of horizontal and vertical black stripes across the full browser window. The work shows a circular region in the center where the horizontal stripes are masked out, revealing only the vertical lines, creating a distinct visual inversion. The piece uses raw SVG elements created via the Document API, employing a `mask` element with a white circle on a black rectangle to selectively hide parts of the rendered rectangles. The code iterates 100 times to generate both the horizontal and vertical stripe sets, relying on `window.innerWidth` and `window.innerHeight` to adapt the layout to the viewport size.

Fork of Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction Mask Inverse

This example shows a generative art composition inspired by Sol LeWitt, featuring horizontal and vertical black stripes overlaid on a white background. A circular white mask on a black rectangle reveals the stripes only within a centered 200-pixel radius, creating an inverse grid effect. The SVG is built dynamically via the DOM API, with 100 horizontal stripes masked by the circle and 100 vertical stripes drawn unmasked across the full canvas.

Fork of Fork of Fork of Sol LeWitt reproduction Mask Inverse

This piece layers horizontal and vertical striped rectangles into a square grid on a full-screen canvas, with a circular mask inverting the pattern at the center. Using raw SVG elements and masks (`mask`, `rect`, `circle`) created via the DOM API, the code defines two complementary masks: one black rectangle with a white circle, the other inverted, so the horizontal bands show inside the circle while vertical bands fill the rest of the space. The work is a generative reproduction of Sol LeWitt’s geometric style, built entirely with JavaScript and no external libraries.

Fork of Fork of Sol LeWitt reproduction Mask Inverse

This generative SVG artwork is a procedural reproduction of a Sol LeWitt piece. It displays a grid of horizontal and vertical black rectangles against a white background, with a large circular mask in the center that inverts the pattern. The piece shows vertical black lines contained within a white circle, which is created by using an SVG `mask` element to reveal those lines against an otherwise solid field. The code dynamically constructs the layout using the DOM API, creating 100 horizontal rectangles and a series of vertical bars to achieve the geometric composition.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction Mask

A fork of Sol LeWitt’s geometric art, this visualization renders a series of horizontal black stripes across the full browser window, with a circular region in the center masked out to reveal the white background. The composition uses an SVG `mask` element to create the circle, while JavaScript dynamically generates 100 rectangles, each 10 pixels tall, and applies the mask to them. The code relies on native SVG APIs, including `createElementNS` and `setAttribute`, without any external libraries.

Fork of Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This generative art piece reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired geometric composition using SVG masks to create two distinct circular viewing windows. The artwork shows a grid of horizontal and vertical stripes, where horizontal bands appear within a central circle and vertical bands appear outside that circle, creating a striking contrast. Built with the Document Object Model and SVG API, the code generates 100 horizontal and 100 vertical rectangles, each masked individually to define the pattern’s boundaries. The masks—one with a black background and white circle, the other inverted—control the visibility of each stripe set, producing the final interlocking visual effect.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

A generative rendering of a Sol LeWitt-inspired geometric composition uses SVG masks to reveal intersecting horizontal and vertical line grids. The artwork first displays 100 horizontal rects, masked by a central white circle, then overlays 100 vertical rects masked by an inverted circle, creating a cross-shaped overlap of striped bands. Built entirely with native browser APIs, the code manipulates SVG elements directly via `document.createElementNS`, setting `mask` attributes to alternate visibility across the two circular regions. No external libraries are used; the piece relies on simple `rect` elements, SVG `mask` definitions, and coordinate calculations based on `window.innerWidth` and `window.innerHeight`.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

A fork of a Sol LeWitt reproduction renders a grid of horizontal and vertical stripes confined to two circular masks. The piece uses raw SVG elements created via the DOM API, with a mask containing a white circle over a black rectangle to reveal horizontal bars, and a second inverted mask to show vertical bars. Each stripe is a `rect` element positioned in a loop, with the masks applied via the `mask` attribute. The composition dynamically fills the browser window, creating a minimalist geometric interplay between line and void.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This is a generative visualization that reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece by layering horizontal and vertical black-and-white stripes within a centered circular mask. The code uses the SVG API to create 100 horizontal rectangles and 100 vertical rectangles, each with a height or width of 10 pixels, and applies two distinct masks (`circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`) to reveal the stripes only inside the circle. The first mask shows the horizontal bars, while the second mask inverts its effect to display the vertical bars, resulting in a crosshatched pattern over the entire viewport. The piece dynamically adapts to the browser window dimensions, with no external data source or libraries beyond the native DOM manipulation.
