This example displays the New England Patriots’ all-time leading rushers, listing players ranked by total rushing yards. The visualization initially renders the raw data from `data.csv` as a JSON string within a `pre` element, demonstrating a unidirectional data flow where state changes trigger a re-render via the `viz` function. It uses D3 v7’s `select` and `csvParse` to load and parse the dataset, converting numeric fields to numbers. The code shows only the loading and display stages, with no chart or graphical encoding implemented yet; the data table itself is the current output.
