This example shows the USA car sales of 2022, displaying each brand’s year-to-date sales as a pie chart with a legend listing the brand, percentage share, and sales in thousands. The data is loaded as CSV from a GitHub gist and processed with `d3.csv`; the pie layout uses `d3.pie` and `d3.arc` to generate SVG paths. Color encoding applies `d3.scaleOrdinal` with a fixed palette, and legends are appended as SVG groups with text labels formatted via `d3.format`. The visualization is rendered entirely with D3 v5, with the SVG container defined in the HTML.
