This example demonstrates a React-based pet selector interface built with React 16.9.0 and ReactDOM, rendered as SVG within a hidden parent container. A dropdown menu offers six pet options, including dog, cat, and spider, while the page styling sets large font sizes for the label and select elements. The code uses the `ReactDOM.render` method to mount the App component to the `#root` div, and the provided D3 v5 library is loaded but not actively used in the displayed interaction.

Fork of Smiley Face Part II

This example demonstrates a pet-selection interface built with React and D3. It displays a dropdown menu that lets users choose from six pet options, with the selected value managed through React’s `useState` hook. The UI uses a reusable `Dropdown` component that maps over option objects and triggers state updates via an `onSelectedValueChange` callback. The page loads D3 v7, React 16.9, and ReactDOM from CDNs, while the app logic in `index.js` renders the component hierarchy into a root element.

This example demonstrates a React-controlled pet-selection interface, where a dropdown menu displays six animal options (Dog, Cat, Hamster, Parrot, Spider, Goldfish) with an initial default of "Hamster." The App component uses the useState hook to manage the selected value, passing it to a reusable Dropdown component that renders an HTML select element. The Dropdown component maps over the options array to generate each option element, and the onChange event handler updates the selected value through the callback. The page uses React 16.9.0 and D3 v5, though D3 is not actively used for visualization, and the layout includes a large hidden SVG smiley face in the HTML comments.

This example demonstrates a simple interactive dropdown menu for selecting a pet, built with React’s `useState` hook and a `Dropdown` component. The selected value updates the menu’s displayed option, using an array of pet objects for data. The app is rendered with `ReactDOM.render` into the root element, styled with large and hidden overflow layout. It uses React 16.9 and does not rely on D3 for this particular fork, despite the smiley-face origin.

Fork of Smiley Face Part II

A React application displays a pet-selection dropdown menu, allowing users to choose from six animal options. The selected value is captured through state management and reflected in the dropdown’s highlighted choice. The interface uses React’s `useState` hook and a custom `Dropdown` component for handling user input, while the overall structure is rendered as SVG via ReactDOM. The code includes a commented-out SVG smiley face, but the active visualization solely presents the form controls.

This example shows a pet selector using a dropdown menu with options like Goldfish, Dog, Cat, Hamster, Parrot, and Spider. The selected value is managed through React's `useState` hook, displayed in the console. The `Dropdown` component receives options and state setters as props, rendering a `<select>` element that updates the state on change. The code combines React 16.9 with D3 v7, specifically using the `range` function from D3, though no data visualization is rendered beyond the interactive dropdown interface.

This visualization demonstrates a pet-selection dropdown interface where the choice updates the displayed state. The React app uses a `Dropdown` component to manage user input, with options that have mismatched labels and values, causing a misleading display of selected pets. The code relies on React and ReactDOM to render the interface, while the dropdown’s `onChange` event triggers a state update. The interface is presented in a full-screen HTML page with styled controls, though the actual visual feedback of the selection is not shown beyond the console log.

Fork of Smiley Face Part II

This example shows a smiling face made of two eyes and a yellow circle, drawn with SVG elements inside a React app. The code imports React and D3 v7, using `csv` from D3 to load CSS named colors data from a GitHub gist, though the visualization itself is a static SVG smiley. The `App` component conditionally renders a message based on whether the data has loaded, while the commenting, incomplete SVG markup in `index.html` hints at the intended face design. React 16.9 and D3 are loaded via UMD scripts, and the app renders into a `#root` div.

This example shows a smiley face built with reusable React components, rendered as SVG with D3’s arc generator for the mouth. The code splits the face into separate ES6 modules for the background circle, eyes, and mouth, using React fragments to return multiple elements. The face is centered via an SVG group transform, with fixed dimensions and styling defined in a plain HTML wrapper. The React and D3 libraries are loaded from CDNs, and the final composition is mounted into the DOM with ReactDOM.
