This example shows a minimalist bar chart created with five black rectangles of varying heights and positions on a white background, representing abstract data values across a 960-by-500 viewBox. It renders directly in SVG elements defined inline within the HTML, using the `rect` tag with explicit `x`, `y`, `width`, and `height` attributes. The code relies on basic CSS to remove page margins and set overflow to hidden, with no JavaScript libraries or external data sources involved.

Bar SVG Fundamentals

This example demonstrates a basic bar chart rendered entirely as static SVG elements, with a grey background and four dark bars of varying heights. The chart uses raw SVG markup within an HTML page, with each bar drawn using a `<rect>` element that specifies its x and y position, width, height, and fill color. The visualization relies on manual coordinate and dimension values rather than any data-binding or layout algorithm, showing the fundamental building blocks of SVG-based graphics in a React-free, bare-minimum HTML context. The chart’s values are hard-coded, so it does not respond to data changes or user interaction.

SVG Fundamentals

This example demonstrates fundamental SVG shapes and text elements as a static bar chart-like visualization. The code uses the raw SVG API with `circle`, `rect`, and `text` tags to render four labeled rectangles of decreasing widths. The JavaScript-free page relies on hardcoded pixel coordinates and fill colors with no data binding or interaction. It serves as a minimal introduction to SVG’s coordinate system and shape primitives within a React-free HTML context.

SVG fundamental

This example demonstrates fundamental SVG rendering in React, showing a bar chart with green rectangles of varying heights and a detailed axis with tick marks. The visualization uses raw SVG elements including `rect` for the bars and repeated `line` elements for the axis ticks, all defined directly in JSX within the HTML structure. The chart displays four data bars arranged horizontally on a white background within a 1280x832 viewBox, with the tallest bar on the right and progressively shorter bars moving left. The rendering relies entirely on static SVG markup without any JavaScript libraries or data processing.

SVG Example

This example demonstrates the fundamental structure of SVG graphics with five colored rectangles arranged to form a pseudo-bar chart. The rectangles decrease in height from left to right, with each bar positioned at a different vertical offset. The visualization uses raw SVG elements—specifically `<svg>` and `<rect>` tags—embedded directly in an HTML document, with hard-coded width, height, and position attributes. No JavaScript libraries or data sources are involved, showcasing SVG's native capability for static vector rendering.

SVG Example

Five static SVG rectangles form a simple bar chart, descending diagonally from the top-left to the bottom-right. The bars have equal widths and varying heights and y-positions, creating a staircase-like visual from a hardcoded JavaScript array of objects. The example uses D3 v4’s selection API to append rectangles to an SVG canvas, setting x, y, width, and height attributes from the data. The code demonstrates basic declarative binding of data to SVG shapes without animation or axes.

Fork of SVG Fundamentals

This example shows a static bar chart-like composition built with raw SVG elements, displaying four gray rectangular bars of varying heights on a light background. The chart is accompanied by black text labels and path-based annotations, including the letter “A” and numeric values rendered as SVG `<path>` elements. The visualization is implemented using React with inline SVG markup, and the page imports the Archivo and IBM Plex Sans fonts via Google Fonts. The rendering approach relies entirely on hand-coded SVG coordinates and shapes without any data-driven JavaScript or charting library.

SVG starter

This example demonstrates a minimal SVG-based bar chart with three static rectangles rendered in steelblue, green, and red. The SVG canvas is created by appending an `svg` element to the HTML body via D3's selection API, with a height of 500 and width of 960. Each rectangle is positioned using explicit `x` and `height` attributes, with widths fixed at 50 pixels. A loop then appends additional red rectangles at intervals of 100 pixels, though the loop condition prevents it from executing properly.

Pseudo Bar Chart

This example displays a pseudo bar chart composed of five black bars of varying heights on a white background. The bars are rendered as plain SVG shapes—using `rect` and `path` elements—positioned within a 960 by 500 viewBox. The visualization uses no JavaScript or external libraries, relying solely on static SVG markup defined in the HTML. The bars are clipped using an SVG `clipPath` to maintain a clean rectangular boundary.
