This example displays a circular arrangement of colored arcs derived from a CSV file of named CSS colors. Each color is drawn as a small arc path, with its fill set to the corresponding RGB hex value, and its position and opacity scaled by its index in the dataset. The visualization uses React for rendering SVG elements, and D3 v7 for data loading via `d3.csv`, as well as for the `arc` generator and linear/sqrt scales that compute angular and opacity values.

Making a Bar Chart with React & D3

This visualization displays every CSS named color as a wedge in a radial burst, using D3’s `csv` loader to fetch data from a GitHub gist and `pie` and `arc` to compute the angles and paths. React renders each wedge as an SVG `<path>` with its fill set to the color’s hex value. The example demonstrates a simple integration where D3 handles data parsing and geometry while React manages the component state and DOM updates.

Use d3 arcs

This example visualizes a dataset of CSS named colors as a pie chart, with each slice filled using its corresponding RGB hex value. The visualization leverages React state to manage asynchronous data loading via D3’s `csv` utility. D3’s `pie` generator computes the arc angles, while the `arc` function renders the SVG paths. The chart is centered on an SVG canvas, and the data source is a remote gist containing color names and hex codes.

bar_chart

This example renders a colorful pie chart where each slice represents a CSS named color, loaded from a remote CSV file. The code uses React for component state management and D3’s `csv`, `pie`, and `arc` functions to compute and draw the chart as SVG paths. Each slice is filled with its corresponding hexadecimal value from the dataset, creating a full circle of distinct hues. The visualization demonstrates a straightforward mapping of categorical data to a pie layout without inner radius or additional styling.

Bary Bar Bar React & D3

A donut chart displays all 148 CSS named colors as equal-sized slices, with each slice filled by its corresponding hex value. React manages the asynchronous loading of the CSV data via the `useState` and `useEffect` hooks, while D3's `csv`, `pie`, and `arc` utilities transform the dataset into SVG `path` elements rendered inside a React component. The visualization highlights the full spectrum of named colors in a single circular layout.

Rendering data with React and D3

A radial bar chart displays all named CSS colors from MDN, with each color as a wedge arranged around a central point. The visualization uses React hooks to fetch and parse the CSV data, while D3’s `arc` generator creates the ring segments. The SVG paths are rendered by React components, with each wedge’s fill set from the color’s hex value. The chart uses `d3.csvParse` to process the data and maps each entry to an arc with equal angular spacing.

using D3 arcs

This example uses D3 arcs to render every named CSS color as a single wedge in a full circle, creating a color wheel from the CSS named colors CSV dataset. The React app loads the data with d3.csv, then uses d3.pie() and d3.arc() to compute the path geometry. Each path’s fill is set directly from the dataset’s RGB hex value column, producing a dense, evenly partitioned ring of colors rendered as SVG inside a React component.

Visualizing CSS Colors - d3Arc

This visualization displays all CSS named colors as equal-sized slices in a circular arc chart rendered as an SVG. The data is loaded from a CSV file using D3’s `csv` utility, and each color’s hex value fills its corresponding arc segment. The chart is built with React’s `useState` and `useEffect` hooks to manage the fetched data, while D3’s `arc` and `pie` functions compute the arc paths. A loading placeholder appears until the data arrives.

Visualizing data with D3 and React

This example shows a full-screen radial burst of colored arcs, one for each named CSS color, rendered as SVG paths. It loads a CSV of CSS color names and RGB hex values using `d3.csv`, then uses React hooks (`useState`, `useEffect`) to fetch and store the data. D3’s `pie` and `arc` generators compute the angular segments, each filled with its corresponding hex color, while React maps the data to `<path>` elements inside a centered `<g>` transform.
