Forked from Let's make a face with D3.js

A large circle is drawn on a full-screen SVG canvas, with a horizontal line bisecting its lower portion and a vertical line crossing the entire viewport, forming a cross-like composition. The visualization uses D3 v5 selections to append SVG elements, dynamically sizing the canvas based on the browser’s client dimensions. The circle and lines are styled via CSS, with the circle having a white fill and black stroke, while the lines use a black stroke and fixed 4-pixel width.

Blank Canvas

A blank SVG canvas fills the browser viewport, rendered as a rounded rectangle that spans the full width and height of the window. The visualization uses D3 v5 and React, with the code selecting the SVG element via `d3.select` to set its dimensions based on the document body’s client size. The rendering approach is SVG, drawing a single rectangle with a 40-pixel corner radius. No data source is present; this serves as a minimal starting point for building interactive graphics.

Blank Canvas

A blank canvas fills the browser window with a single rounded rectangle, demonstrating the simplest possible SVG rendering with D3.js. The visualization uses the `select` function from D3 to target the SVG element, then dynamically sets its width and height based on the viewport dimensions. The code appends a `rect` element with rounded corners (`rx` attribute) that covers the entire canvas, creating a subtle frame effect. The page layout is controlled with fixed positioning and hidden overflow in CSS, ensuring the canvas remains perfectly sized to the viewport without scrollbars.

Blank Canvas

A blank canvas is presented as a full-screen, rounded rectangle rendered in SVG, filling the entire viewport with a clean, empty surface. The visualization uses D3.js v5 via the `select` method to create and size the `rect` element dynamically based on the browser window's dimensions. No data is loaded or displayed, and the code simply sets the SVG's width and height attributes before appending the rectangle. The result is a minimal, static composition that foregrounds the canvas itself as the subject.

Blank Canvas

A blank, fixed, full-viewport SVG canvas is drawn using D3 (d3.v5). The visualization only renders a single rounded rectangle covering the entire browser window, with no underlying data or marks beyond this base shape. The code uses D3’s `select` and `attr` methods to size the SVG to the viewport’s clientWidth and clientHeight, applying rounded corners via `rx`. It relies on HTML `body` CSS for positioning and uses a simple SVG `rect` element for output.

Blank Canvas

A full-screen blank canvas renders as a rounded rectangle filling the browser viewport, with no marks or data. The visualization uses D3 v5’s `select` to target the SVG element and sets its dimensions from the document body’s client width and height, then appends a single `rect` with a 40-pixel corner radius. The fixed-position CSS ensures the canvas remains edge-to-edge regardless of scroll, while the empty SVG plus appended rectangle constitutes the entire graphic.

Blank Canvas

A full-screen SVG canvas displays only a rounded rectangle drawn with D3's `select` and `append`. The rectangle fills the viewport dimensions, which are read from `document.body.clientWidth` and `clientHeight`. The visualization uses a minimal blank state with no explicit data source; the code sets the SVG's width and height attributes and applies a 40-pixel corner radius via `attr('rx', 40)`. No additional interactions or updates occur, leaving a static, empty composition.

Blank Canvas Cross

On page load, the visualization populates its blank SVG canvas with a horizontal dendrogram derived from a nested JSON dataset of world regions and countries. The tree layout recursively positions each node in a hierarchical branching pattern, with links drawn as smooth horizontal curves. The layout uses d3.tree() and d3.hierarchy() to process the data, while d3.linkHorizontal() generates the path coordinates. The code author uses D3 v5 within a React framework, though the direct SVG rendering bypasses React and relies on raw DOM selection.

Blank Canvas

A blank SVG canvas fills the viewport, with a single rounded rectangle covering its full width and height. The code uses D3's `select` to grab the SVG element, then sets its dimensions based on `document.body.clientWidth` and `clientHeight`. A `rect` is appended with `rx` for rounded corners. The visualization demonstrates a minimal setup with D3 v5, React, and SVG, where the data is simply the viewport geometry itself.
