This example shows a bar chart of 2020 population estimates for 30 countries, using horizontal bars sorted by country name on the y-axis and population magnitude on the x-axis. The visualization is built in React with D3 v5’s `scaleBand` and `scaleLinear` for positioning, while SVG `<rect>` elements render the bars. Data loads from a remote CSV via `d3.csv`, with population values converted from thousands. Axis components generate tick marks and labels, and tooltips appear on hover via SVG `<title>` elements.
