Bowl of Fruit Click to Select

Bowl of Fruit - Click to Select

This example shows a bowl of fruit where clicking on an apple or lemon selects it, highlighting the chosen piece with a black outline. The visualization animates changes to the fruit data over time, including removal, type changes, and addition, using transitions on the circles. Built with React and D3 v5, it uses `scaleOrdinal` for color and radius mapping, SVG groups for positioning, and D3’s `selection.merge` pattern for enter-merge-exit updates. The bowl is rendered as a rounded rectangle, with fruit positioned horizontally.

Bowl of Fruit - Click to Select

Five fruits render as colored circles in an SVG, with apples and lemons distinguished by size and color. Clicking a circle records its selection and triggers a re-render. The visualization demonstrates data joins and transitions using d3.selectAll, data binding, and transition methods, with fruits added, removed, and type-changed over timed intervals. The d3.scaleOrdinal maps fruit types to radii and colors, while React manages the click handler and state updates.

Bowl of fruit click to select

This example shows a bowl of fruit that changes over time, with circles representing apples and lemons that users can click to select, highlighting the chosen fruit with a black outline. The visualization demonstrates animated transitions as fruits are removed, transformed, and repositioned using d3 transitions over one second. Built with React and d3.v5, the code uses `scaleOrdinal` for color and radius mapping, while selection and data binding manage the dynamic updates. The SVG rendering includes click handlers that trigger re-renders, and the fruit bowl shrinks and morphs as fruits disappear from the array.

Bowl of Fruit - Click to Select

A bowl of fruit rendered as SVG circles lets users click individual apples or lemons to select them, highlighting the chosen fruit with a black stroke. Built with React and D3 v5, the visualization uses d3.scaleOrdinal for color and radius mappings based on fruit type, while React state manages the selected fruit's ID. Each circle responds to click events, updating the selection and re-rendering the components with animated transitions.

Bowl of fruit - Click to select

This example demonstrates an animated, interactive SVG fruit bowl where apples and lemons are represented as colored circles. Users can click a fruit to select it, which adds a black stroke around it. The visualization shows state changes through time, including fruit removal, type changes, and filtering. Built with D3 v5, the code uses `scaleOrdinal` for color and radius mapping, and D3's selection API with `enter`, `merge`, and `exit` to animate circles and labels smoothly when the underlying data array is modified.

Bowl of Fruit Click to Select 2

Five fruit circles in an SVG bowl transition between apple and lemon states, with hover highlighting that selects a fruit by turning its stroke black. The visualization uses D3 v5's `scaleOrdinal` for color and radius mapping, while `selection.enter` and `exit` manage animated transitions as fruits are removed or changed. The React framework orchestrates state updates through an `onClick` handler, triggering re-renders that shift positions along an x-axis and apply 1000-millisecond duration transitions to circle attributes.

Bowl of Fruit - Click to Select

Five fruit circles appear in a row, rendered as SVG elements in React with D3 v5. Clicking a fruit highlights it with a gray outline while its color and radius animate through `transition().duration(1000)`, mapping apple and lemon types via `scaleOrdinal` color and radius scales. The data join uses a key function for object constancy, and exit transitions shrink circles to radius 0 before removal as fruits are eaten or replaced over time.

Bowl of fruit Click to Select

A bowl of fruit visualization demonstrates animated selection and data updates. Five circles representing apples and lemons move horizontally, with the selected fruit highlighted by a black stroke. The view uses d3.select and d3.range to generate initial data, with scaleOrdinal mapping fruit types to colors and radii. Fruit removal, type changes, and interactive clicking trigger transitions via d3.transition().duration, animating circle positions and sizes over one-second intervals. The implementation uses React, SVG rendering, and D3 v5.
