This example demonstrates a minimal React application that renders a green full-screen background with the text “hello react.” The code loads React 16.9, ReactDOM, and D3 v5 from CDNs, then uses `ReactDOM.render` to mount a functional component called `App` into a `<div id="root">` element. The component returns a plain JSX div, showing how to set up a basic React environment with D3 available for future visualization work. The styling applies a light green background and removes default margins.

dv2020-ep30-viz30 - React Starter

This starter example demonstrates how to integrate D3 into a React application, rendering a simple "Hello React!" message on an otherwise blank canvas. The code imports the `arc` function from D3 but does not yet use it, instead focusing on the minimal setup required for React and D3 to coexist. It loads React 16.9.0, ReactDOM, and D3 v5.11.0 via CDN, then uses `ReactDOM.render` to mount the App component into the `#root` div. The example serves as a foundation for future episodes involving more complex D3 visualizations within React components.

React starter

This example shows a minimal React application that renders the text “Hello React!” on a blank page. It demonstrates how to integrate D3 with React by loading both libraries via script tags, then using ReactDOM to mount a functional component into the `#root` element. The code uses React’s `createElement` pattern through JSX, while D3 is available globally but not yet invoked, highlighting a basic setup for combining the two frameworks.

This example demonstrates a minimal React application that renders a simple "Hello" message inside a full-screen div. It integrates React 17 and D3 v7 via UMD scripts, using ReactDOM.render to mount the component into a root element. The code shows a basic setup for embedding D3 within a React component structure, with no data visualization or dynamic behavior beyond the static text output.

React Starter Code

This example demonstrates a minimal React application that renders a static “Hello React!” message inside a root div. It combines React 16.9.0 with ReactDOM to mount the component, while also loading D3 v5 as a dependency, though D3 is not yet used for any visualization or data manipulation. The project structure includes an HTML entry point that loads both React and D3 from CDNs, and a bundle.js containing the React component logic. The code serves as a starter template for integrating React with D3 in future interactive visualizations.

React Starter

This example demonstrates a minimal React application rendered in a browser. The code creates a simple component that outputs the text “Hello React” into a root div. It imports React and ReactDOM directly, and uses `ReactDOM.render` to mount the app. The setup includes D3 v7 and React 17 as external scripts from a CDN, though the displayed code does not yet utilize any D3 functionality.

React Starter

This example demonstrates a minimal React application that renders the text “Hello React!” inside a large, centered message div. It uses React 16.10 and ReactDOM to mount the component onto a root div, while the page also loads d3.v5 but does not invoke any D3 functions. The styling is defined in an inline CSS block within an HTML template. The code imports a local SVG file, although the import is unused in the rendered output, and does not visualize or manipulate any data.

React and D3 StarterCode

This example demonstrates a minimal React application rendering a static “Hello” message, showing how D3 can be loaded alongside React in a single project. The code imports React and `createRoot` from `react-dom` to mount the `App` component into the `#root` element, while D3 v7 is included via external script tags in `index.html` but is not yet used for any visualization. The styling applies a large centered font size to the message, serving as a basic starter template for integrating D3 with React.

React Starter

This example demonstrates a minimal React application that renders an empty `<div>` element as its entire user interface. The code manually loads React 16.9.0, ReactDOM, and D3 v5.11.0 via CDN script tags in the HTML, then uses `ReactDOM.render` to mount a functional `App` component into the root DOM node. While the component itself contains no visualizations, the setup serves as a foundation for integrating D3 with React, with the body hidden by `overflow: hidden` and all content constrained to the viewport.
