This interactive bar chart displays the top ten countries by UN-estimated population for 2020. Each horizontal bar’s length is scaled to the population value, with country labels on the vertical axis. The visualization is built with React and D3 v7, using `scaleBand` for the categorical y-axis and `scaleLinear` for the numeric x-axis. Data is loaded asynchronously from a CSV file via `d3.csv`, and the chart is rendered as SVG elements within a React component.

United Nations Population Prospects Data Viz

This interactive bar chart displays the top ten most populous countries in 2020, based on data from the 2019 United Nations Population Prospects, loaded via a CSV file. The visualization uses React hooks to fetch and manage the data, while D3’s `scaleBand` and `scaleLinear` position and size each rectangular bar within an SVG canvas. The chart renders directly in the browser, with country names on the y-axis and population values mapped to bar widths.

UN Population Prospects 2019

A horizontal bar chart displays the ten most populous countries in 2020 based on UN Population Prospects 2019 data. The visualization loads a CSV file via `d3.csv`, parses the population column, and maps country names to a `scaleBand` y-axis while populations drive a `scaleLinear` x-axis. React state manages the asynchronous data loading, and SVG rectangles render the final bars. The chart uses D3 v5 for scales and data parsing, with React components handling the rendering.

United Nations World Population Prospects 2019

This visualization displays the ten most populous countries for 2020, using horizontal bars ranked by population size from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2019 dataset. The chart loads CSV data via `d3.csv`, then renders SVG rectangles with React, scaling bar widths using `d3.scaleLinear` and positioning them vertically with `d3.scaleBand`. Axis ticks and labels are generated from the scales, with population values shown along the bottom. The code demonstrates a React state hook (`useState`, `useEffect`) to asynchronously fetch and slice the data, while D3 utilities handle the layout and formatting.

UN World Population 2020

This example shows the top 10 most populous countries in 2020 using a horizontal bar chart, with each bar’s length proportional to the population from the UN World Population Prospects 2019 dataset. It loads the CSV data with d3.csv, transforms the 2020 column into numbers, and renders the bars as SVG rectangles using React’s useState and useEffect hooks. The chart uses d3.scaleBand for the categorical y-axis and d3.scaleLinear for the population scale, with the bars positioned and sized via the React map function.

World Population Prospects Visualisation

This example shows a horizontal bar chart of the top ten countries by population in 2020. It loads UN population data via `d3.csv`, transforms the numeric population column, and sorts by filtering the first ten rows. The visualization uses React with `useState` and `useEffect` to fetch data asynchronously, while D3's `scaleBand` and `scaleLinear` map country names and population values to SVG rectangles. The chart renders as a clean, unlabeled bar list against a white background using ReactDOM.

World Population Prospects 2019

A horizontal bar chart displays the ten most populous countries, using their projected 2020 populations from the World Population Prospects 2019 dataset. The visualization is built with React and D3 v5, rendering SVG rectangles. The code uses `scaleBand` for the categorical y-axis and `scaleLinear` for the numeric x-axis, with data loaded via D3's `csv` method and processed in a React `useEffect` hook.

UN_Poplulation_2019

This bar chart displays the top 10 countries by projected population for 2020, using data from a UN Population 2019 CSV file loaded via `d3.csv`. The visualization uses React with SVG rendering, where `d3.scaleBand` maps country names to vertical positions and `d3.scaleLinear` maps population values to horizontal bar lengths. Gridlines and axis ticks are generated through `xScale.ticks()`, with the chart sized to the browser window dimensions.

World Population Prospects 2019(styling)

This bar chart shows the top 10 countries by total population for 2020, based on the World Population Prospects 2019 dataset. The visualization uses React and D3 v5, with SVG rectangles to encode population values horizontally. Axes are rendered via the `scaleBand` and `scaleLinear` D3 scales. The `<title>` element provides simple, browser-native tooltips, and the chart uses D3's `format` for tick labels, converting Giga to Billions.
