This bar chart displays the ten largest countries by land area, with values sourced from the World Bank and adjusted to millions of square kilometers. Using d3.scaleLinear and d3.scaleBand, the visualization maps numerical area values to horizontal bar lengths and country names to vertical bands. Bars render as SVG rectangles that animate their width from zero to the scaled value via a two-second transition, while d3.axisLeft and d3.axisBottom generate the labeled scales. The chart highlights Russia’s dominance, with China and the United States following, and includes Algeria and Kazakhstan tied at the lower end.
