This animated bar chart demonstrates a customizable, multi-segment bar chart. Built as a custom HTML element using the vcBarChart class, it manages SVG-based bars with individually adjustable segment heights, colors, and offsets via interactive controls. Users can add or remove bars dynamically and swap their order. The visualization leverages a custom svcSvgManager to handle SVG drawing and manipulation, with separate classes managing bars, rectangles, and chart-level operations.

Bar Chart Bar using SVG Path Command

A single bar from a bar chart is rendered as two adjacent SVG rectangles, one wide and one narrow, demonstrating how SVG primitives build chart elements. The code uses raw SVG `rect` elements within an `svg` viewBox, rather than a JavaScript library like D3. The bar is drawn with a solid blue fill and a thinner light-blue stripe, suggesting a highlighted segment or axis marker. This example shows the simplest possible SVG path-based construction for a bar, with no scales, axes, or data binding, serving as a minimal starting point for chart creation.

Making a Bar Chart

This example demonstrates a bar chart that is not yet fully implemented; instead, it shows a loading animation built with CSS keyframes. The display features four rotating line segments in yellow against a dark blue background, which rotate and fade to create a looping square-drawing effect. The code uses HTML, CSS animations, and D3.js from a CDN to set up an SVG container, but the actual bar chart data and rendering logic are absent from the visible files. The animation relies on CSS transforms with custom origin points to simulate a drawing motion.

Vertical Bar Chart

This visualization presents a vertical bar chart initially displaying six pink bars with varying widths. The chart then animates, transitioning the bars to new width values over two seconds using D3’s transition system, with the `transition.attr` API handling the smooth dimension changes. The SVG rendering is implemented using `d3.select` and `append` to create the rectangles, while the data appears as static arrays within the code. The animation showcases how D3 can alter existing SVG elements dynamically, though the source data is not externally linked.

bar chart

This bar chart displays four vertical bars of varying heights, each represented as a black rectangle on a white background. The bars are evenly spaced, with the tallest on the left and progressively shorter bars to the right. The visualization uses raw SVG elements—specifically `<rect>` tags—to draw the chart directly within an HTML page. The page includes basic styling for margins and hidden overflow, and the SVG canvas has fixed dimensions of 960 by 500 pixels.

Psudo Barplot 1

This example shows a simple bar chart with four bars of varying heights, rendered directly as SVG rectangles using HTML markup. Each bar is drawn with hard-coded x, y, width, and height attributes, without any JavaScript or data-binding library. The y-coordinate for each rectangle starts from the top of the 960×500 viewport, meaning taller bars extend downward. The visualization relies solely on inline SVG elements within the HTML file, with a minimal CSS reset to remove page margins and hide overflow.

Psuedo Bar Chart

This example visualizes four evenly spaced bars of varying heights as a playful take on a standard bar chart, set against a white SVG canvas. The chart uses only raw SVG elements—a single `<path>` for the background and four `<rect>` elements with hardcoded x, y, width, and height values—to create the pseudo-bars. No JavaScript libraries or data binding are present; the rendering is purely static SVG markup. The design deliberately misaligns the bars’ vertical positions to suggest a skewed or alternative ordering, emphasizing form over data accuracy.

Pseudo Bar Chart

This pseudo bar chart uses SVG rectangles and paths to render a set of abstract, hand-drawn-style bars on a plain white background. The chart shows five vertical bars of varying heights and widths, arranged across the canvas with dark gray fills against a light gray backdrop. The code directly constructs each bar using static SVG elements, such as `<rect>` and `<path>`, rather than relying on a JavaScript library or data binding. With no scales, axes, or data-driven logic, this example serves as a minimal, visual approximation of a conventional bar chart.

Animated bar chart

This example demonstrates how to build an animated bar chart using D3 version 4. The visualization first draws a static cartoon-like figure composed of SVG shapes (rectangles, circles, and lines) to serve as a backdrop, then relies on a separate JavaScript file (index.js) to generate the chart’s dynamic elements. The code explicitly uses D3’s selection and arc APIs, including `d3.select` and `d3.arc()`, to construct the scene, with the bar chart itself styled via CSS classes such as `.bar` and `.highlight`.
