This example visualizes political donation amounts across American sports leagues, broken down by political party affiliation. A stacked bar chart displays donation totals per party, with each league's contributions color-coded and labeled via an interactive legend. The chart uses `d3.stack`, `scaleOrdinal`, and `schemeCategory10` from D3 to process and render the data from a CSV file. Hovering over a color legend entry highlights the corresponding league's bars while fading others, using `flatRollup` for data grouping and `axes` from `@curran/responsive-axes` for chart scaffolding.

Fork of Interactive Stacked Bar Chart

This chart displays campaign donations from various sports leagues, grouped by political party affiliation, using a stacked bar chart. Each bar represents the total donation amount per party, with colored segments showing the league breakdown. Hovering over a league in the color legend highlights its corresponding segments and dims others. The visualization uses d3.flatRollup, d3.stack, and d3.scaleBand for aggregating and rendering the data from the sports-political-donations.csv source.

ASD

This bar chart shows campaign donation amounts by sports league, colored by political party affiliation (Democrat, Republican, Bipartisan, or N/A), with a legend indicating party colors. Hovering a bar reveals a tooltip displaying the league, party, and total donations for that league. Built with D3 v6, it uses `d3.select` to build the SVG, `d3.scaleBand` and `d3.scaleLinear` for axes, `d3.scaleOrdinal` with `d3.schemeCategory10` for colors, and `d3.csv` to load the dataset, with interactive tooltips styled via CSS.

American Sports Owner - Political Donations

This visualization plots political donations by American sports owners as circles on a scatter plot, with the league on the x-axis and donation amount on the y-axis. The title is displayed above the chart. Built with D3 v5, the code uses `d3.scaleBand` for the x-axis, `d3.scaleLinear` for the y-axis, and `d3.csv` to load the data. Each circle is positioned using the band scale’s bandwidth and rendered in an SVG.

Fork of HTML Starter

This visualization displays political donation amounts across major sports leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, WNBA, NASCAR), with a multi-line chart grouping donations by party affiliation. Using D3 v6 with SVG rendering, the code loads data from a CSV file, applies time and linear scales, and uses `d3.group` to nest entries by party before drawing line paths with `d3.line`. Axes are generated with `d3.axisBottom` and `d3.axisLeft`.

stack area

This stacked area chart displays survey responses tracking Americans’ favorite sports from 2004 to 2017, showing how percentages for each sport accumulate over time. The visualization uses D3 v4’s `d3.stack()` to transform long-format TSV data into stacked series, then renders them as SVG paths via `d3.area()`. Categorical colors are assigned with `d3.scaleOrdinal`, while linear scales map years and percentages. The chart is built from a Makeover Monday dataset, drawn entirely in SVG within a 500x500 viewport.

Sports Ratings

This stacked bar chart displays the distribution of fan ratings across six sports, with each bar segmented into five rating categories from "below 5.0" to "above 8.5." The visualization uses D3 v7's `d3.stack()` and `d3.scaleOrdinal` with a categorical color palette. Hovering over any segment triggers a tooltip showing the exact percentage for that rating category. The chart includes axes, a legend, and is rendered as SVG with data loaded from a CSV file.

Political Contributions by Sports Owners

This visualization displays a scatter plot of student math versus verbal SAT scores for all states in 2015. Each circle represents a state, positioned by its average scores and sized by the number of test takers. Colors are determined by whether the state's mathematics GPA is above or below 3.5. The chart uses D3 v7 with `d3.scaleLinear` for axes and circle sizing, `d3.scaleOrdinal` for color mapping, and `d3.csv` to load the `satscores.csv` file. Interactive hover effects, implemented via CSS, change point color. The SVG rendering includes a color and size legend for interpretation.

Donations Effects - fixed rect height TEST

This stacked bar chart visualizes how donation amounts are split between COVID-19 and other purposes across different giving categories. Users can toggle between total donations, COVID-only, and other-purpose views via an interactive menu. The visualization uses React with D3 v6, employing `scaleBand` for the y-axis and `scaleLinear` for the x-axis, rendering SVG rectangles with fixed heights. A striped pattern masks the first segment to distinguish it visually, while tooltips show percentage values. Data comes from an external CSV file about giving methods.
