SVG Fundamentals

This example shows a stylized cartoon face built entirely from SVG primitives, including a yellow circle for the head, two black eye circles, and a curved mouth generated with d3’s arc generator. The face is composed through reusable React components—BackgroundCircle, Eyes, Mouth, and FaceContainer—which accept numeric props for positioning and sizing. The FaceContainer wraps all elements inside an SVG group that translates to the canvas center, while the mouth’s path is computed using d3.arc with specified inner and outer radii and angular ranges. The final rendering relies on React 18 and d3.v7, producing a static visualization without interaction or data binding.

Modify the face

A stylized face composed of overlapping SVG shapes is rendered with React, using the D3 `arc()` generator to create a mouth and basic circle elements for the head and eyes. The face is drawn as a yellow circle with a black stroke, positioned at the center of the viewport, and includes a Gaussian blur filter applied to the head. The eyes are simple circles offset from the center, while the mouth is an arc path generated with D3’s `arc()`. The example demonstrates how D3’s geometry helpers can be integrated within a React component to build a static, SVG-based illustration.

Let's Make a Face Part V

This example renders a stylized cartoon face composed of SVG primitives, featuring a yellow circular background, two dark eyes, and a smiling mouth. The face is built using React components that wrap SVG elements: `BackgroundCircle`, `Eyes`, and `Mouth`. The mouth shape is generated with D3’s `arc` generator, applying inner and outer radii with start and end angles to create a semi-circular curve. All facial features are positioned relative to a central group transform, ensuring the composition stays centered in the viewport.

Hello HTML!

This example shows a stylized face constructed from SVG shapes, including a yellow circular background with a black outline, two black eyes, and a curved mouth. The face is rendered using React components that compose the `svg` output, with the mouth path generated by the `d3.arc` API. The code uses React and ReactDOM to render the face into an HTML page, and defines D3 functions for the arc path.

Hello HTML

This example renders a smiling face composed of SVG shapes, including a yellow background circle, two eyes, and a mouth created with a D3 arc path. The face is built from reusable React components—BackgroundCircle, Eyes, Mouth, and FaceContainer—that accept props for positioning and sizing. The FaceContainer establishes an SVG coordinate system centered at a specified point, while D3’s `arc` generator defines the mouth’s curved shape. The visualization demonstrates how React and D3 can be combined to create declarative, parameterized graphics.

Test Project

This example displays a simple yellow face composed of a circular background, two eyes, and a curved mouth, all rendered as SVG elements within a React application. The face is drawn using basic circle and path primitives, with the mouth shape generated by the d3-shape `arc` API. D3 v7 is loaded alongside React, and the component structure demonstrates how React components can encapsulate reusable visual parts like `BackgroundCircle`, `Eyes`, and `Mouth`. The code uses fixed numeric constants for sizing and positioning, and renders the face centered within an SVG canvas.

Hello World!

This example creates a smiling face using React and SVG, with a yellow circle for the head, two eyes, and a mouth shaped as an arc. The face is assembled from modular components—`BackgroundCircle`, `Eyes`, `Mouth`, and `FaceContainer`—each defined as separate React components. It uses D3’s `arc` generator to construct the mouth path and demonstrates SVG rendering within a React framework. The composition is centered and scaled via transform attributes, with D3 version 7 and React 16.9 as the underlying libraries.

tested

A yellow circle face with black outline, two eyes, and an arc-shaped mouth is rendered in an SVG using React components. The components are split across separate ES6 modules, with the mouth drawn using the d3 arc generator. The example demonstrates component composition and React Fragments, with all shapes positioned via a central transform group.
