This generative artwork reproduces a Sol LeWitt piece, displaying a grid of horizontal and vertical bands that only appear within circular viewing windows at the center of the canvas. Two SVG masks, `circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`, control visibility: a white circle reveals the horizontal strips on a black background, while an inverse mask reveals the vertical strips on the surrounding white area. The drawing is constructed purely with JavaScript, creating 100 rectangle elements for each orientation and applying the masks via the `mask` attribute. The result is an intersecting pattern that visually swaps foreground and background between the two circular regions.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This is a generative art example that reproduces a Sol LeWitt piece as an SVG drawing. It shows a grid of horizontal and vertical bands intersecting within two circular masks at the center of the viewport. The rendering uses vanilla JavaScript with SVG’s `mask` and `circle` elements to alternate which bands are visible. The code creates 100 horizontal and 100 vertical rectangles, each 10 pixels thick, and uses two complementary masks to reveal either the horizontal or vertical set within a 200-pixel-radius circle, creating a crosshatched, layered effect.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This generative art piece reproduces a Sol LeWitt wall drawing using pure JavaScript and the SVG API. It displays a grid of alternating horizontal and vertical stripes that intersect within central circular masks, creating a layered geometric pattern. The code constructs an SVG canvas with two circle masks—one revealing horizontal bars, the other vertical bars—overlaid to produce the final composition. No external libraries are used; all elements are created dynamically via `document.createElementNS` and styled with inline attributes.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece using an SVG rendering approach. It displays a grid of horizontal and vertical lines that intersect within two circular masks, creating a nested geometric pattern centered on the screen. The code constructs SVG elements dynamically via the Document API, using `createElementNS` to build rectangles and circles. Two masks (`circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`) control visibility: the first reveals horizontal stripes inside a 200-pixel-radius circle, while the second exposes vertical stripes in the surrounding area, producing a layered, minimalist composition.

Fork of Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This generative art piece reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired geometric composition using SVG masks to create two distinct circular viewing windows. The artwork shows a grid of horizontal and vertical stripes, where horizontal bands appear within a central circle and vertical bands appear outside that circle, creating a striking contrast. Built with the Document Object Model and SVG API, the code generates 100 horizontal and 100 vertical rectangles, each masked individually to define the pattern’s boundaries. The masks—one with a black background and white circle, the other inverted—control the visibility of each stripe set, producing the final interlocking visual effect.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This piece renders an abstract, generative composition inspired by Sol LeWitt’s wall drawings. It shows a circular mask overlaid with two sets of alternating horizontal and vertical stripes, creating a crosshatch pattern that fades to reveal a central white circle against a black background. The code uses the SVG API via JavaScript to create a full-viewport canvas, dynamically setting element attributes like width, height, and mask references. Two SVG masks (`circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`) define the visible regions for the 100 horizontal and vertical rectangles drawn in looping iterations.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This example recreates a Sol LeWitt art piece using generative SVG drawing. It shows a grid of thin horizontal and vertical lines that are selectively revealed through two circular masks, creating a cross-shaped pattern within a central circle. The code builds the visualization entirely with raw SVG elements and the DOM API, using `createElementNS` and `setAttribute` to construct rectangles and masks. The masks, defined as `circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`, combine black and white fill layers to control which line segments remain visible, producing the final geometric composition.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

A generative rendering of a Sol LeWitt-inspired geometric composition uses SVG masks to reveal intersecting horizontal and vertical line grids. The artwork first displays 100 horizontal rects, masked by a central white circle, then overlays 100 vertical rects masked by an inverted circle, creating a cross-shaped overlap of striped bands. Built entirely with native browser APIs, the code manipulates SVG elements directly via `document.createElementNS`, setting `mask` attributes to alternate visibility across the two circular regions. No external libraries are used; the piece relies on simple `rect` elements, SVG `mask` definitions, and coordinate calculations based on `window.innerWidth` and `window.innerHeight`.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction observation

This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece, displaying a grid of thin horizontal and vertical lines that intersect only within a central circular region. The code creates an SVG canvas and uses two SVG masks (`circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`) with inverted fills to control which rectangles are visible. One set of 100 horizontal strips is clipped by a white circle on a black mask, while another set of 100 vertical strips is clipped by a black circle on a white mask, producing a layered crosshatch effect inside the circle. The full-window black and white rectangles are rendered in plain HTML5 SVG without any external libraries.
