This bar chart displays global sales figures for nine video games, using horizontal positioning to rank titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and FIFA 16. Built with p5.js, the sketch loads a CSV file via `loadTable` in `preload()`, then renders rectangles with the `rect()` API, mapping sales values to bar heights. Y-axis labels are drawn programmatically, while game names appear rotated beneath each bar, with axis margins defined as constants.

Bar Chart

This bar chart displays global sales figures for nine video games, using horizontal position and bar height to compare each title’s commercial performance. The visualization is created with p5.js, loading data from a CSV file via `loadTable` and rendering the chart using the Canvas API’s `rect` and `text` functions. Sales values are mapped to pixel heights with the `map` function, while game names appear as rotated labels beneath each bar. The chart includes a y-axis with numeric sales values, and the data source is a local CSV file containing game names and their corresponding global sales.

Bar chart

A bar chart displays the global sales figures for nine video games from 2015, with each bar representing a title and its height corresponding to sales in millions. The chart uses the p5.js library to load data from a CSV file hosted on GitHub, render the bars, and label the axes. It includes game names beneath each bar and a y-axis scale showing sales values. The data comes from the HW2.csv file, which lists game titles and their Global_Sales figures.

Bar chart

This bar chart visualizes video game sales data loaded from a CSV file, displaying global sales figures for individual game titles. The P5.js sketch reads the data using `loadTable`, maps sales values to bar heights, and labels each bar with the game name. The chart also draws a Y-axis with numeric labels. The code relies on P5.js functions like `createCanvas`, `rect`, `map`, and `text` to render the visualization, with layout parameters for margins and bar spacing.

Bar Chart

This bar chart displays metric sales (in millions) for video game publishers from 2003 to 2009, with publisher names listed vertically and sales represented by horizontal bar lengths. The p5.js sketch loads CSV data from a GitHub-hosted dataset using `loadTable()` in `preload()`, then draws the visualization in `draw()` using `rect()` for bars, `text()` for labels and axis annotations, and hardcoded color values. The chart plots approximately 16 publishers, with sales scaled by a factor of 1.3 to fit the 600x600 canvas, alongside a manually drawn X and Y axis.

Dot Plot

This dot plot visualizes global sales figures for nine video games, using a single dot per game along a horizontal axis to represent sales in millions. The chart includes labeled axes and specific scale intervals, with game names positioned to the left of each dot for clarity. The visualization is built with p5.js, loading data from a CSV file via the `loadTable` function in the `preload` step, then rendering the chart elements on a 900x600 canvas using drawing functions and the `map` method to scale the data values.

Bar Chart

This bar chart visualizes global sales by video game genre, ranking categories like Action and Shooter from highest to lowest on a linear scale. Using D3 version 6, the code loads CSV data via `d3.csv` and draws SVG rectangles with `d3.selectAll`. The axes are created with `d3.axisBottom` and `d3.axisLeft` on band and linear scales. Rectangles change fill color from steelblue to orange on mouseover, then transition to red on mouseout with a 250ms duration.

bar chart

This example shows the global sales of video games grouped by genre as a static bar chart. The code loads CSV data from a GitHub gist, parses the `Global_Sales` column into numbers with `d3.csv`, and renders bars using React and SVG. The `xScale` uses `scaleBand` for each genre, while `yScale` uses `scaleLinear` with the maximum sales value mapped to the chart’s height, although the bars are drawn with their y-position fixed at zero.

D3 Bar chart

This bar chart displays global sales figures for top-rated video games in 2016, with each game’s name on the x-axis and sales in millions on the y-axis. The D3.js code uses d3.csv to load the data, then maps it to a d3.scaleBand for the x-axis and a d3.scaleLinear for the y-axis. Rectangular SVG elements are colored steelblue, and d3.axisBottom and d3.axisLeft generate the labeled axes. A rotated text element labels the y-axis. The chart renders entirely as inline SVG within an HTML page.
