California Wildfires Scatter Plot

This visualization represents the geographic distribution of wildfire incidents in California, where X axis is the Longitude and Y axis shows the Latitude.

Each red circle represents a wildfire event, with the size of the circle corresponding to the number of acres burned. Larger circles indicate more severe incidents.

Interpretation of Scatter Plot

> The wildfires are concentrated in a diagonal pattern from the northwest (near latitude 42, longitude -124) to the southeast (near latitude 33, longitude -117), aligning with California’s geography.

> Several large bubbles (large-scale fires) are noticeable in northern and central California, particularly between latitudes 38-40 and longitudes -123 to -121.

> Fires are also prominent in Southern California (lower right portion of the graph). These areas, particularly near Los Angeles and San Diego, often experience frequent and intense wildfires due to dry conditions and strong Santa Ana winds.
