This example renders a full-screen SVG canvas that resizes to fill the browser viewport. The visualization sets up a fixed, full-body layout using Bootstrap utility classes and custom CSS with overflow hidden. The D3 v5 library handles the SVG element, and the code uses `document.body.clientWidth` and `document.body.clientHeight` to compute the canvas dimensions. The header and fill areas are styled with Bootstrap’s background color classes, but no actual data or marks are drawn in the provided scripts.

Introduction to D3

This example demonstrates a minimal introduction to D3, showing how to create an SVG canvas that fills the entire browser window. The code uses the `select` and `append` functions from the D3 library to dynamically add an SVG element to the HTML body, then sets its width and height attributes based on the window’s dimensions. The visualization renders nothing beyond an empty, resizable SVG container, serving as a starting point for more complex D3 projects. The page is built from a barebones `index.html` file with no pre-existing content, relying on JavaScript to construct the visual output at runtime.

Blank Canvas

A blank SVG canvas fills the browser window, sized to the full viewport. The example demonstrates a minimal D3 v5 setup where a single SVG element is selected and its width and height attributes are set dynamically using `document.body.clientWidth` and `document.body.clientHeight`. The code imports the `select` function from D3 and applies no other visual elements, serving as a starting point for further visualization work.

D3

This example showcases a D3 visualization rendered as an SVG within an HTML page, loading the d3.v5 library from a CDN. The code sets up an SVG canvas of 960 by 500 pixels and includes a linked stylesheet, suggesting styled output. The visualization depends on an external JavaScript module (`/js/main.js`) that likely leverages D3’s core APIs to generate the graphics, though the specific chart type or data source is not visible in the provided files.

Create a blank canvas

This example creates a full-screen, blank SVG canvas that fills the browser viewport. The code uses D3 v5’s `select` to target the SVG element, then reads the document’s `clientWidth` and `clientHeight` to set the SVG’s dimensions and append a solid rectangle covering the entire area. The underlying `styles.css` fixes the body to the viewport edges with zero margins, ensuring a seamless, borderless display. No data is loaded or manipulated; the visualization simply demonstrates a minimal setup for a fresh drawing surface.

D3 Blank Canvas

This example demonstrates a minimal D3.js setup that fills the browser viewport with a blank SVG canvas. It renders a single rounded rectangle that covers the entire screen, using `d3.select` and the `svg.append` method to add the shape. The code reads the document body’s client width and height to size the SVG dynamically, and the stylesheet fixes the body to prevent scrolling. The example highlights basic SVG attribute manipulation with `attr` for width, height, and corner radius, serving as a clean starting point for D3 projects.

making a canvas!

This example demonstrates how to create a full-screen interactive canvas using D3 v5 and SVG rendering. The visualization fills the browser viewport with a single rounded rectangle, responding to the window dimensions by setting the SVG width and height attributes dynamically. The code uses D3’s `select` function to target the SVG element and appends a `<rect>` element with a 40-pixel corner radius. The stylesheet ensures the body has no margins and prevents overflow, making the canvas occupy the entire display area.

D3

This example uses D3 v3 within a React framework to render an SVG visualization on a nearly full-screen canvas. The code sets up a basic HTML page with an SVG element sized to 960 by 500 pixels, demonstrating the integration of D3’s layout and rendering capabilities with React’s component structure. The visualization relies on D3’s data-driven approach, though the specific data or simulation details are not defined in the provided files. The example highlights how SVG elements are manipulated via JavaScript, with CSS controlling page margins and overflow to create a clean, immersive display.

grids 2

This example presents a dashboard layout with distinct regions for a map, table, slider, and hierarchical data, though the visible code only establishes the Bootstrap-based grid structure and an empty SVG canvas. The page uses Bootstrap 4 for responsive column and row sizing, with a fixed full-height container and color-coded placeholders. D3 v5 is imported and used solely to set the SVG’s width and height based on the document’s client dimensions. The index.js file applies these attributes without additional data binding or rendering, leaving the actual visualizations unimplemented.
