This example presents a minimalist blank canvas: a single, large rounded rectangle that fills the entire browser window. The visualization demonstrates a foundational D3 setup, using the `select` method to target an SVG element and dynamically setting its width and height attributes based on the viewport dimensions. It relies on the SVG rendering approach, appending a rectangle with `rx` for rounded corners. The code uses D3 v5, and the simple styles.css configures the body for a fixed, edge-to-edge display.

Blank Canvas

A blank rectangular canvas fills the browser viewport, rendered as a single rounded rectangle. The visualization demonstrates the foundational step of setting up an SVG drawing surface with D3 v5. The code uses `d3.select` to access the SVG element and sets its width and height attributes based on the document body’s dimensions. A `rect` element is appended and styled with `rx` for rounded corners, creating an empty, minimal display with no additional data or interactive elements.

Blank Canvas

This example presents an initially blank, full-viewport canvas. It displays a single, fixed, rounded rectangle that fills the entire browser window. The visualization is rendered using an SVG element, whose dimensions are set to match the document body’s width and height via the D3.js library. The code imports the `select` function from D3 and uses it to configure the SVG, appending a rectangle with rounded corners. The underlying styles, defined in CSS, fix the body to the viewport, ensuring the blank canvas remains the sole focus of the page.

Blank Canvas

This example displays a blank canvas that fills the entire browser viewport. The visualization uses a simple SVG rectangle with rounded corners, rendered in a fixed-position body that prevents scrolling. The code relies on D3 v5's selection API (`select`) to target the SVG element and sets its dimensions based on the document's `clientWidth` and `clientHeight` properties. The rectangle’s `rx` attribute gives it a subtle rounded appearance, creating an empty but intentional visual space.

Blank Canvas

This example presents a minimalist blank canvas: a single rounded rectangle fills the entire browser window as a static SVG shape. The visualization demonstrates the basic setup of an SVG-based D3 scene, sizing the drawing area to the viewport and rendering one straightforward geometric element. The code uses D3 v5's `select` function to target the SVG element, then appends a rectangle with a 40-pixel corner radius, with the page styled to remove margins and prevent scrolling.

Blank Canvas

A full-window, rounded rectangle fills the browser viewport as a blank canvas, rendered as a static SVG shape. The visualization demonstrates a minimalist setup using D3 v5’s `select` to target the SVG element and set its width and height attributes based on the document’s client dimensions. A single `rect` is appended with a large corner radius (`rx` of 40), and CSS fixes the body to eliminate scrolling. No data or interactive behavior is present; the piece simply showcases a clean, borderless visual starting point.

Blank Canvas

A blank SVG canvas fills the browser window with a single rounded rectangle. The visualization demonstrates minimal setup using D3 v5, where the `select` method targets the SVG element and sets its dimensions to match the viewport. A rect with a 40-pixel corner radius is appended to create the sole visual element. The example relies on the document body's client dimensions to size the canvas, with CSS constraining the page layout to prevent scrolling.

Blank Canvas

This example presents a blank, rounded-corner rectangular canvas that fills the entire browser viewport. The visualization uses D3 v5 to create a single SVG `rect` element, with dimensions dynamically calculated from the `document.body.clientWidth` and `clientHeight` properties. The canvas is styled with a fixed, full-screen layout, and the D3 `select` function targets the SVG element to set its width and height, demonstrating a minimal setup for responsive SVG rendering.

Blank Canvas

A blank, rounded rectangle fills the entire browser viewport, offering an empty visual canvas. The example demonstrates the minimal setup for a D3.js v5 visualization using SVG rendering, where the page dimensions are read directly from the document body and applied to the SVG element. The code relies on d3.select to target the pre-existing svg tag and appends a single rect with corner radius. No data drives the display; the focus is purely on establishing a flexible, full-window drawing surface.
